Birds! With Swirly Wings!

If you live in the Huntsville area, might I suggest you attend a Spirited Art class? You pay $35 dollars and no matter how little natural ability you have (Trust me. I have NONE.) you walk away with a painting that YOU painted. And you will love it because it will be awesome because YOU DID IT.

I needed this tonight more than ANYTHING right now, I believe. A night NOT being a Mom. But being an…artist! It just feels very good, even if someone is essentially guiding you through the painting brushstroke by brushstroke.

It’s called Spirited Art because there is also wine and beer at the event. Something I always think is a perk of any event, but I opted out since I was 1) Driving and the event was at the top of the mountain and 2) Trying to paint, which is not something I can really do sober…much less under the influence. But it was still totally awesome and rejuvenating and I would attend every class if I could afford it.

    Awesome, Kim!!! Just AWESOME!!!
    I absolutely LOVE the picture!
I have less talent than that, but I love taking these classes! It’s so relaxing to not have to worry about the kids or getting paint on someone else’s shirt :-)
Oh, and don’t forget about the wine. Ahhhhh….

Those are awesome! You have to let me know if you go again! Bekah, the girl that does it, friends with my friend Susan. I think she is so cute. Also, I think she went to High School with Donnie. Those birds are the cutest ones I have seen!

I love it! That is seriously amazing. I wish we had classes like that around here.

  22. It’s gorgeous! I really, really, REALLY wish I could make it for the Cosmopolitan class (that’s actually my favorite painting of the ones she has shown), but I just can’t do it this week :/

    Maybe someday.

    Your birds are gorgeous!

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
