Not even Rob’s magnificence can keep me from cringing at that old-lady wig Jackson had to wear. It’s worse than Taylor’s wig!

I agree with a lot of the other comments here–LOVE Kristen Stewart as Bella, LOVE Robert Pattinson, am coming around to appreciate Taylor Lautner (he didn’t do it for me AT ALL in Twilight, but part of that was the awful hair, I think), Jasper’s hair is a big fat WTF, and WHOA, the wolf scene is freakin’ amazing. (Taylor has filled out quite, um, nicely.)

I would add:
–I really, really hope that Edward’s family’s characters are less cardboard in this movie, at least for the brief time they’re in the story. I am having a hard time seeing the characters from the books in these actors so far, but I guess we won’t REALLY see them come alive until the third movie.
–I am surprised no one else has mentioned this–WHY is the wolf missing so much fur (on forelegs, rear legs, etc)? It looks like a cross between a wolf and a hairless chihuahua. Not a good luck, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why that would even be necessary from a production standpoint. Any ideas?

Also… Kristen Stewart. I watched the replay of the awards last night and saw the dropped popcorn thing that everyone was talking about, and was just all “Whaa?” I couldn’t figure out if she is just completely socially inept (I mean, the intro to the trailer? She was so… flat) or if she was playing Bella at the awards show as well. Pattinson seemed to get a huge kick out of it, so I thought maybe she was just being Bella-ish?

Anyway… love it all: the books, the movies, the drama in the press. SO glad that you convinced me to read the books!

I think the trailer just squishes together two different scenes from the movie: the meadow with Laurent (he hears Paul, I think) and then the porch scene where Jacob goes wolf (I think this might be when he goes after Paul the first time Bella sees them as wolves). Bella’s even wearing different clothes.

Why didn’t they make 17-year-olds like that when we were that age?!

1. You’re right, Jasper’s hair is tragic. It was tragic in Twilight but if he can soften his Edward Scissorhands look that he rocked in the first movie. I’ll consider myself happy.

2. The scene at the house during the party was a little dramatic especially the paper cut part. That was all for dramatic effect but I’ll equate the acting as the same calibur as the PMS commercials. Just overdone.

3. I fear that yes, this movie will be heavy on the cheese factor, but I didn’t get that vibe too much from the scenes we’ve seen. Maybe a new director really was the best thing for the franchise.

4. I am also glad they didn’t recast Jacob as that just seemed so unnecessary. Taylor has proven that he can bulk up for the role (OMG DID YOU SEE HIS CHEST?) and I’m really curious to see him move forward with his role and play a bigger part in the next movie.

5. The morphing into the werewolf was pretty bad a**. I was pleasantly surprised with how that played out and think that’s a good sign for the rest of the movie. I’m really looking forward to seeing that evolve too!

Plus, DID YOU SEE HIS CHEST? For 17, that’s not a boy, that’s a man. And I will totally watch and salivate.
