For Your Enjoyment

I don’t have much time as my kids need to be fed and watered…but I wanted to share this video out so those of you who don’t do twitter or flickr can see it. NikkiZ brought home real cinnamon yesterday and was so proud of it. They’ve been learning about skin the last few weeks and this week it’s morphed into lessons about bark and wood. (BTW – she has the best preschool teacher I’ve ever known. EVER.) Somehow this prompted handing out cinnamon sticks…THE MOST EXCITING THING EVER. I tried to video her excitement but the second she was on camera the pressure was too great. Before the camera was out? She was saying over and over, “It’s real cimmon and you can LOOK it…only LOOOK it (which I later realized meant “lick”) – but DO NOT BITE IT. It is made from WOOD. And BARK. And it is MINE!” But when I turned on the camera? I had to drag the information out of her. But the best part? Is the end when I finally give AndyZ (who is fussing the whole time I’m trying to talk to his sister) some camera time. He hams it up quite well for a moment to end the video with a very cute farewell.

  4. So cute!
Sabrina used to be a ham like that. I knew if she was cranky I could get out the camera and she would immediately start smiling and hamming it up.

Oh, I so just died over here…between Nikki’s sweet smile and his little face :) Any time you need a sitter, let me know! Of course, you’ll have to come to Hawaii for that, but I’m sure we can work something out!

Still have to drag what-happened-at-school stuff out of my second-grader. :-)

Your kiddos are so cute …. NikkiZ with her shy camera face and AndyZ with his adorable “bye-bye”. Great video!

Delurking to say that was adorable, and also that you have a lovely voice! I know everyone tends to hate the sound of their own voice in recordings — at least I do — so I thought I’d just let you know how much I liked yours.

It’s so great when they get excited about new things. Mags (also almost 4) tells everyone that her plastic dino “has big teeth to rip up his meat”–with lots of growling and gnashing of teeth to demonstrate.

    Absolutely adorable :)

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
