Party Animals

MrZ and I got all dolled up last night for his office Christmas party. He was taking a picture of us with his phone when LilZ (who had my camera) jumped on the coffee table to grab this shot. I am so in love with the idea AND with how great of a photo it turned out to be. I’m going to actually frame it I love it so much. We had a lot of fun at the party and proved how old of souls we truly are when we ended up taking responsibility for the leftover desserts because everyone else was going out after the party. Seriously, everyone else continued the night and we were all, “Really? But it’s midnight! That’s late and we’re old.” We said this to people who had as much as 15-20 years on us. But you know what’s important about that story? We BOTH opted out. Meaning? If we’re going to be lame at parties, at least we’re lame together. Making us the perfect couple.

That picture is awesome! My compliments to the photographer!

And doode, you made it to midnight. You deserve a medal in my book.

I’m loving that picture too! And I probably wouldn’t have made it until midnight. My boyfriend and I have a deal: if we’re going somewhere that requires me to be out after ten, I get to take a nap first. And if it’s going after midnight, I get to leave at 11 to sleep and then come back later and pick him up. Odd, and it means extra driving, but totally works for us!

Genius! I love this. Also? We should party together- my idea of “going out” is to leave the house by 7 and be back by 11. I’m a total party animal!

This is my new favorite photo and so SIMPLE. It’s fantastic and I would frame it if I were you, too. LOVE it.

It’s like the 21st century version of Escher’s sphere. Lovely.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
