The Chain Reaction of AWESOME starts with ME.

I have a friend who has recently become a client of Carrie at Get Your Bliss and is currently – for lack of a better term – working on her life’s mission statement. It has been truly fascinating listening to her talk about the process and the questions you work through when you’re working to focus your life. If I lived in Phoenix? I would be living on Carrie’s doorstep for her guidance. She seems amazing. These conversations have really gotten me... Read More

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I got my husband Zombieland for Valentine’s Day because I really love him. Like I love Zombies. Except I don’t really love Zombies. But if I did? I would totally steal a ring from one of LilZ’s BFFs that says, “I love Zombies” on it. Because it is the BEST RING EVER. Even if you don’t love Zombies. Which I don’t. Because that would be cheating on my Wizards, Vampires and Werewolves. I’ve got enough of my Fantastical Lover plate,... Read More

Updates G.A.L.O.R.E.

I believe the above capture of a tweet I made yesterday speaks for itself. It basically is me admitting something I was mortified to realize. That I’m an idiot. The end. I have recently re-listened to Harry Potter books 6 and 7 on several occasions. Probably 3-5 times each the last year. I just decided a month or so ago to listen to the entire series again from Book 1 on. The more I listen to them the more I fall in love with them over and over again. If that’s even... Read More

Dear Dad,

I think I need to find a therapist. I’ve said that off and on for years as I suffer through anxiety attacks and insomnia. I’ll go through bad phases where I’ll seriously consider finding a therapist, and then I’ll start to feel better and the urgency fades. I’ve realized lately, however, that I owe the previous years of coping to you. Somehow, having you to call always helped. Even if I didn’t discuss with you the actual issues stressing me... Read More

When All Else Fails, Write About TV

Let’s just pretend there hasn’t been a cessation in posting around here, okay? Let’s pretend that the post below this one was written yesterday! And the one before that? DAY BEFORE! Let’s just all keep in mind that I’ve now been officially blogging for six years. SIX YEARS. As you can see by a glimpse of my dashboard above, I’ve written a lot of entries in those six years. (And I’ve captured a lot of spam, evidently.) So…enough... Read More

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
