Summer Lovin’
Summer is officially over here as school has started back and it’s no longer hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk…even before the sun rises in the mornings. I fell in love with a lot of things this summer, so I thought I’d share some of my discoveries with you as we often have similar taste. The Botanical Gardens launches some sort of park-wide exhibit every summer. This summer? Treemendous Treehouses. It was SO MUCH FUN. Some of them were just small... Read More
Teaching My Kids Life Management Skills, 42 Errands At A Time.
Wes has gotten the most out of me as a Mother. I worked when Nikki was little, and then added Wes to the family before she was 3. After an hour or two of no sleep I decided to give him a warm bath. When I got severe leg cramps as a child, my Dad would fill an old paint bucket (Cleaned!) up with hot water and I would soak my leg until the water turned... Read More
Fighting The Giggles
NikkiZ came down the stairs yesterday morning after a Coloring With Markers session in the playroom. I have mixed feelings about markers. I don’t really mind that they end up on fingers and hands sometimes because they’re easy to clean off. But once in awhile this happens and I am reminded that maybe Wes shouldn’t be using them unattended. So, I was letting her color with markers while Wes ate breakfast. So – she comes downstairs but stops halfway and calls... Read More
