HoneyDukes Anyone?
Once again I pulled an all-nighter with Wes and his leg cramps. I remember the pain of those things so vividly I am more sympathetic than I usually am when my kids keep me up. He’s the first of my kids to suffer from them and MY GOD does he suffer. I’m a wee bit beat and today has been ruled a half-day at school because of the threat of bad weather. In other words? PRAY FOR ME, MY CHILDREN.
Also…this is an entry I wrote awhile back but felt it was a little short for my normal blog entries and figured I’d save it for a day when my brain was not functioning at proper blogging level. TODAY IS THAT DAY.
At the Harry Potter Premiere party we had, my friend Beth’s family brought me goodies from one of their trips to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I was so excited by these edible treats that I immediately put them on display on my Harry Potter shelf, vowing to never open them. THEY ARE TOO AWESOME TO OPEN. I keep seeing Dumbledore eating out of that box of Bertie Botts in the first movie while he’s visiting Harry in the hospital wing. I walk by this shelf several times a day and just smile. If my house were burning down and my family was safe? This would probably be my first stop out the door. This shelf.

The leg cramps are most likely due to a magnesium deficiency. I used to get them when I was younger. Once I started taking magnesium, the leg cramps disappeared. It seems to run in our family. My dad had the same problems, but no longer, thanks to magnesium. I honestly can’t sing the praises of magnesium enough. I’ll NEVER forget the leg cramps that left me in SHEER agony, writhing around on the floor until they passed. (((Shudder.))) So glad those days are over!
I love that you’re having a half day of school because of the “threat” of bad weather. Yesterday the high here was 5, we have more than 20 inches of snow on the ground and when I drove by the elementary school I saw classes playing outside for recess. I think I need to move to Alabama!
leg cramps? how awful for one so little to have to endure that kind of pain.
Hope they go away soon.
I LOVE that you have a special Harry Potter shelf. If we weren’t already short of bookshelf space (seriously, w/ 2 English people-one=philosophy major/writer, the other=academic/sometimes poet-in a couple, what were we thinking? WAY too many books, not enough shelves), I would do that myself! To our credit, we DO have a fantasy “section” of our shelves, including Mr. Potter, Twilight, Golden Compass, etc.
Anyhow, I remember my brother having INTENSE leg cramps when we were young. I’m sorry. He would run & re-run a hot bath all night sometimes. I hope y’all can find some easy relief!
Oh that sounds like such a rough night! I’m sorry, hon. I hope Wes gets through these growing pains or whatever they are asap. Also, those candies? Awesome.
