Mission: Accomplished

Beauty and the Beast Character Breakfast

Yesterday was SO FUN. I have no idea if there were any complaints (most are too kind to pass those along) but I heard nothing but compliments from volunteers AND participants. Of course, it helped that I had a team of A-MA-ZING parents to help me. Several took charge of the kitchen since I was all, “AHH! I can’t cook pancakes!” They blew a few breakers but other than that? Wonderful. I over-shopped, of course. But I guess it’s better that than UNDER-shopping. The teenagers enjoyed it too as each one of them had a line of kids wanting their autographs. (By the way – the autograph pages? TOTALLY MY IDEA. I was quite proud.) E wasn’t in costume, as it was just the friendly principle characters. The insane asylum guy who tries to take Belle’s Dad is not really one you want the kiddies to hang with.

But if you want to see some of the amazing costumes, check it out here at the pictures Donnie took. I was working the front door so didn’t get to see a lot of it, but I was glad there were pictures for me to enjoy later. The show is going to be BRILLIANT. Can’t wait.

Wow–those costumes are elaborate and amazing! I’m so glad it all went well.

BTW, I love E’s long hair. My son’s hair is super-straight, and we never could get past the around-the-ears growing phase. Alas…

Zoot – would my nearly 3 year old who loves the Disney version do well at the play?

That is AWESOME. It had to have been a smashing success; I’m sure there were NO complaints. The costumes are gorgeous.

I cannot believe how awesome those costumes are. I was just looking at the pictures with my friend and I kept saying, oh my gosh how PROFESSIONAL those costumes are. This is amazing, I wish I lived closer. NikkiZ looked so adorable and so very regal. Maybe you can squeak in a picture of Lil Z ok ok, E… love to see his costume.

Your kids rule :D And of course you do as well!

  6. How fantastic! Such a great idea, and I agree, the costumes are spectacular”

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
