Okay. Here’s my beef about tonight’s episode. I LOVED the Bonnie Is Not Dead Twist…but here’s the thing. If she really did just “cast a spell” that faked her death? This is my problem with that:
1) Easy/Cheap writing that is very much NOT typical on this show.
2) Does not fit with Damon asking Bonnie if she was still willing to “do anything” to kill Klaus.

THEREFORE…
I really hope that what REALLY happened is that Damon gave her some of his blood so she would come back. So, now she is in that pre-Vampire limbo where she has to drink blood to complete the transformation.

I really REALLY hope this is what happened b/c A) I love the idea of the Vampire/Witch and B) It would justify the “Oh! She’s not really dead!” which I totally hate. That’s what I love about this show, it never takes the cheap way out. It totally has no problem killing people. So, there must be a GOOD excuse and to me the “Bonnie Cast A Spell” is a really crappy one.

Your thoughts?

Oooooh! I like that theory! I also agree that it was unlike TVD to do something cheap.

I can’t wait for next week! Best show on TV!

  2. Heather says:

Totally with you here. I was SO bugged when she turned out to be not dead until I considered the vampire/witch angle.

  3. Likalia says:

I too agree, I knew she was “faking” her own death as soon as Damon asked her how far she was willing to go, but when he said she cast a spell I was REALLY disappointed in the writers. I hope it turns out how we all know it should. Either way though it is going to be an exciting final four of the season. :)

  4. Allison says:

First off OMG Damon…. He is so yummy!! Secondly, I agree, there has to be something else totally going on… But Damon did leave her with Jeremy so maybe he did that since he has “the ring.” She can basically drink all of his blood and he still will not die, right? He does have a ring after all…

Who knows… I could watch this show every single night and never get tired of it… LOVE IT!!! :)

Oh, I like your theory. Makes sense too. I was so irked when she was dead butnotreally. One of the reasons I’ve always been impressed with TVD is they don’t go for the cheap twist. I figured something was going to happen with Bonnie since she’s been the one doing so much press recently for the show (have noticed an uptick in Candice Accolla’s coverage as well but refuse to entertain the idea of Caroline dying so am ignoring it) but all the things I’ve read have pointed to a big death sometime this season. We shall see…

  6. Corina says:

Finally got a chance to watch last night’s episode, and I could not agree with you more. I REALLY hope that she’s a vampire now. If the serious Damon question of “how far are you willing to go” just equates to “are you willing to lock yourself up in an abandoned mansion with your boyfriend until real Klaus shows up” . . . that’s weaksauce and not worthy of this show I love so much. One of the great things about TVD is how much weight the consequences of the characters’ choices have. And this? Not enough weight for the setup.

  7. junkie says:

i was a little disappointed with “she cast a spell” thing, but i was going to let them off THIS TIME since they always do so much better than that!

BUT THEN i read your post, and now i will be extremely upset if that’s not what the real deal is!!!

  8. Colleen says:

I agree… they never seem to go for the easy way out. I was actually shocked that Bonnie didn’t really die. They even made a point of having Bonnie point out that Jeremy giving her his ring wouldn’t work for her. If they wanted an easy out they could have gone with the ring working for her after all, or something. There just has to be some kind of twist.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
