My Areas Of Slacktitude. And Yes, I Just Made Up A Word.
This is just a gratuitous First Day Of School photo. In the last 2 years I’ve gathered quite a nice group of friends from book club, theatre. and boot camp. This has given me quite a large group of women to compare myself to and find myself FAILING MISERABLY. I’ve got single Mom friends who work full time. I’ve got friends who teach and still volunteer at their kid’s schools. I’ve got friends who are stay-at-home Moms who still find energy to exercise.... Read More
Youngest Child Feeling A Bit Left Out
Wes was a little unimpressed with the “OMG! FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!” attention that was going on with Nikki and E yesterday. I tried to lavish some attention onto him because he moves up to the official Preschool class, but he saw through my veiled attempts and decided just to be clinging and grumpy ALL DAY. OR LATER. “Oh, Kim. He must go to bed late then, right?” 7pm weeknights. SEVEN O’CLOCK. Sometimes we let him stay up until 8pm on the weekends, but usually that extra hour makes him cranky. So, on the weekends, he goes to bed around 7:30 and sleeps until I WAKE... Read More
My Thoughts. Which You ALL Have Been Dying To Hear…Right?
There have been a lot opinions shared lately about the concept of banning children from restaurants and movie theaters. I normally wait until all of the commentary dies down before I offer my own, and I only do it then when I feel like my point hasn’t been made by someone else. It usually has been made, and often better than if I have tried to do it myself. However, no one has made MY point yet, dammit! So, my point is not out there in cyberspace and THAT IS A TRAGEDY. My... Read More
