Sleep Is UNDERrated.

So, I developed this new AWESOME trait some time in the recent years. It’s the Exhaustion Headache. I’ve been prone to random headaches that no medicine will cure for awhile, but last spring during Beauty and the Beast I realized it was related to consistent sleep deprivation. Once I caught up on my sleep? They would go away. But before that? NOTHING. Not even prescription pain pills, which I tried in desperation. NOTHING. No beer. No diet coke. No ibuprofen. NOTHING... Read More

The TV-Addict Runner

Preface: If you didn’t see the insane videos Donnie and I tried to do record our accents this weekend, go watch them now. It really shows how southern I am, and now insane our family is. ALL IN ONE VIDEO! **************** I do want all of you to know that – while I’m making a lot of time for running in my life as I train for this half-marathon – I’m only eliminating unimportant things from my schedule to do it. Like cooking. And cleaning. I am STILL... Read More

This Is Insight To Way More Than Just Our Accents.

This is hysterically ridiculous. I’ve been wanting to do the Accent Vlog thing for awhile and I finally did it tonight. But this is INSANE because it does way more than show you my accent, it shows you how INSANE WE ARE in my home. And in my brain. And how much I hate filming myself. And how giggly I am. Just watch. P.S. I have no idea how to make or edit a video. I just used E’s webcam on is MacBook and have no idea how/way it’s shaky or if the sound is messed... Read More

Two-A-Days

When I was in high school and periodically found myself obsessing over or maybe even dating a football player, I learned what a two-a-day was. It was a practice schedule over the summer than implied the team would meet twice a day. Once in the morning, once in the evening. The players HATED two-a-days. One practice was enough…they wanted to rest all day before or after. Two eliminated that rest time. I know that HELL was used to describe them more than once. I’m currently... Read More

Two Opposing Views Inside My Own Head

Someone recently made a comment about how much I do and I immediately responded how I always do when someone says that. “Oh, but I don’t do a lot too. Like clean my house. Or cook meals that require more than 4 minutes prep time. Or bathe.” I like to be funny, but I honestly believe that as long as I’m still finding time to watch my favorite TV shows, then I’m not doing too much. (My new favorite: Revenge – but I haven’t seen last night’s... Read More

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
