A Giveaway To Celebrate The Best Book Release Day Ever!

GUYS. GUYS. GUYS. I woke up at 3:30am to go meet some runners at 5am and I’m so excited because TODAY IS GOING TO KICK ASS.

First off? 5am run! I’ve been wanting to find people to run at 5am forever! I’m hoping this works for all of us, trying to get back home in time to get everyone to work/school. If it goes well this will really make my life so much simpler because evenings are so hard this time of year.

Second off? I woke up to seeing that you guys helped me reach A third of my goal for our local fundraiser that will have me rappeling off the side of a building! And while that terrifies me it also makes me SO PROUD.

And best of all? It’s Insurgent and Bitterblue day! I’ll have hard copies on my doorstep in a few hours and I have the digital copies on my Kindle right now! (Yes. I’m one of the people the publishing industry loves because, for series/books I adore? I get the digital AND the paper versions!) Two of the books I was most anticipating being released the SAME DAY. It’s like my birthday and Christmas all rolled into one.

To celebrate all of these great things I’m doing a multi-purposed Giveaway! I’m giving away a copy of Insurgent and Bitterblue! Why? Because I want to do giveaways to help with my fundraiser and this serves the dual purpose of supporting two of my favorite authors: Kristin Cashore and Veronica Roth. I bought these books with my own money. They are not given to me by a publisher (although, if any of you are out there, I wouldn’t turn down an ARC next time around…) or anyone else. I just bought them to give to YOU to celebrate this wonderful release day and to thank you guys for helping me with my fundraiser.

All you have to do is donate before midnight tonight! (I want to put the books in the mail on Wednesday so you can start reading ASAP.) After you donate, send me your confirmation email so I can separate donors who want to be entered in for this drawing and those who don’t. If you already donated before I published this entry? You get entered in TWICE. Just send me your donor confirmation email and point out that you donated BEFORE the giveaway and you get two entries for participating the first day! So…for a $10 donation to my YMCA you could get TWO (hopefully) AWESOME BOOKS!

  1. My Kindle version has just downloaded!!! Just need to wait for my lunch break to start reading then again I was supposed to run errands and get food – and it’s raining so I can’t walk and read :( issues!

  2. I am so excited about this!! I think rappelling down the Times building would be pretty awesome. I mean, how many times in your life do you get the opportunity to rappel down a building? They usually frown on that kind of stuff. This will be so much fun!

  3. Cool giveaway! I’m going to see Kristin Cashore at the Cambridge library tonight, and will get my own copy then. If I didn’t have a phone interview this afternoon to obsess over, I would be tempted to run out and get a copy this morning, but I restrain myself. Can’t wait to read Bitterblue!

  4. What a cool give-away. I made my donation yesterday … so I will forward to you my donation receipt. I’m excited about Insurgent as I really enjoyed Divergent last year. I have not read Kristin Cashore so now I’m looking forward to a new author to explore! Cool! You are lucky to have found a 5 a.m. running group; hope it works out. I am a morning runner; i’m out the door at 4:30 a.m. all by my lonesome self and would love to run with a group but i very rarely every see anyone else out at that hour. And if I don’t get the run done in the a.m., its just not gonna happen, so that’s what I do.

  5. Doh! I can’t believe I missed this giveaway! I LOVE KRISTIN CASHORE. Or more accurately, her books. Or more precisely, Graceling. I LOVE GRACELING (don’t tell anyone else, except everyone who reads your blog). Very excited about Bitterblue.

I also enjoyed Divergent, though I couldn’t help but wonder if the author wrote the book as she was reading the Hunger Games?
