Dear House, I Love You. Please Quit Picking On Me.

Nikki posed this picture last night as she felt a bit left out since I was taking so many pictures of the teenagers. Heh. LilZ has had one of his childhood friends in town visiting for two weeks now. She visits every summer and it’s like getting the Gang Back Together. Assuming, of course, that I’m part of that gang and they’re not typical teenagers wishing... Read More

Out Of The Box

Two Christmases ago (Or was it three?) I was at Pier One shopping and found these chimes that I thought these would be perfect for my sister-in-law. And because I tend to really dig her style, I bought a set for myself as well. Even though I had NO idea where to put them. Everytime I went to her house and saw them by her window I would think Hmm…I don’t know if I... Read More

My Favorite Room In Our New Home. (So Far.)

The dining room is the first room of the house I don’t mind calling DONE. There will eventually be things on the walls, but that will take awhile to decide on. There will be a few more pieces added to the china cabinet and probably something to the top of it. But for the most part? DONE. And I could not be more in love with it. From the table, which was my first real furniture... Read More

Thank You, Panera.

I still don’t have internet at my new home. I had some issues last week with Comcast not showing up to turn on our service. I bitched online. Several Comcast people contacted me, reassured me it was isolated, sent a nice guy out last Thursday to get things set up. He gave me his cell phone number because he was going to have to come back Friday since one of the jacks we needed... Read More

The End Is In Sight. Kinda.

I have been reminded these last 10 days why I hate moving. Not that I had ever forgotten, I’ve always known I hate moving. But I guess I had forgotten how much I hate it. Which is to say: I HATE IT A LOT. I know people who love the whole, Upgrade-The-House-And-Sell lifestyle. They make a small bit of money off of it every 4+ years or so and upgrade each move. I think this... Read More

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
