This Is A Two-Part Entry: One Part Therapy, One Part Running Babbling.

In my issues dealing with stress eating, I’ve explained how I tend to make 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Two good weeks having a rational relationship with food, and then 3 days of emotional binges. And I don’t mean Oh No! I ate three cookies after dinner!. I mean – I feel like I’m going to puke because I inhaled 3000 calories between the hours of 7pm... Read More

This Day Was Insane. And Also INSANE SOME MORE.

Disclaimer – I’ve reread this entry and can’t quite get it to make sense with punctuation. Or words. Or spelling. Or grammar. Please know this is simply indicative of how tired I am. I promise I’m not either A) Drunk or B) Having a seizure. It’s Saturday night at 7:46pm. I want to be in bed sleeping, but I feel lame and fear waking up tomorrow at 3am,... Read More

Mind Over Matter

So, I’m training for a half-marathon. Did you know that? My local friends and family on Facebook don’t. Because I never talk about it on Facebook at all. NEVER. So…a half-marathon. That’s 13.1 miles. I’ve trained on my own in years past using online programs, and never stuck with it very well, hence poor performance come race day. Therefore, when... Read More

Sleep Is UNDERrated.

So, I developed this new AWESOME trait some time in the recent years. It’s the Exhaustion Headache. I’ve been prone to random headaches that no medicine will cure for awhile, but last spring during Beauty and the Beast I realized it was related to consistent sleep deprivation. Once I caught up on my sleep? They would go away. But before that? NOTHING. Not even prescription... Read More

Two-A-Days

When I was in high school and periodically found myself obsessing over or maybe even dating a football player, I learned what a two-a-day was. It was a practice schedule over the summer than implied the team would meet twice a day. Once in the morning, once in the evening. The players HATED two-a-days. One practice was enough…they wanted to rest all day before or after. Two... Read More

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
