I leave for the airport in an hour and am beyond thrilled. I barely slept at all last night because I’m so excited and desparate to see my family. If the storms in Texas delay my flights at all I may simply start walking home. Just watch me.

Something weird was brought to my attention this morning. There’s someone offering blog designs and blatantly using my templates in their “slideshow” showing the templates they offer. You don’t even have to be familiar with my Free Templates because she left my name in the screenshots. It’s very weird. The site looks a bit defunct because every link I followed was dead, so I’m not too mad, but how weird is that? I know their free, so I guess there’s nothing wrong with other people offering them, I just hope she’s not selling them - that would piss me off. Strange, regardless, to see my templates with my name on them scrolling through her slideshow. I’ve been so busy the last six months I’ve not touch any designs anywhere, so I guess maybe it’s good someone is using them, it’s just weird.

Anyway - I’m on my way home. I’m going to pick NikkiZ up from daycare, increasing the chances of her running towards me when she sees me and I’m going to take your advice and bring cookies to buy her love with. I (heart) scruples.

Anyone want to play around with this template in Blogger Beta for me? I made this template for Blogger Beta - but since I dont use Blogger Beta - I dont know how well it works. (My old free templates work in Blogger Beta, but only if you use them in the “Classic Template” setting.) What I want is for someone (or more than one) who uses Blogger Beta to set this up as their template. Then, maybe, play around with the widgets and stuff. Add some, remove some, etc. See if the design holds up for you. This is ONLY for the brave at heart. I have no idea how well it will work. I added a “Links” widget, but no links. So - you’ll have to add the links accordingly and see if it works. You don’t need to know HTML, but you need to be able to tinker with the widgets in the new blogger beta. And you also need to be willing to dump it if it gives you a headache and pick up one of the Blogger supplied templates and NOT TAKE IT OUT ON ME.

Look! I designed something! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? I finally did a new Wordpress theme for Amy. This is the theme that was giving me fits because I’ve never designed for the Sidebar Widget plugin thing that Wordpress can use. It’s a neat plugin for the blogger, but for the designer? It was tricky. (read: pain in my ass) In order to get my cute graphics to show up on the sidebar, I had to trick the widget to hide the headings it wanted to use, and then format the sections individually to add a margin above the sections for the graphics. It was a pain and it kept me up a night or two (I WILL NOT LET IT DEFEAT ME, DAMMIT) but I’m really proud I figured out how to do it. There are still a few wonky things in Internet Explorer, but that’s Internet Explorer’s fault, not mine, which is why you should use Firefox instead. Anyway - Amy and I have been blogfriends for ages and she turned me onto the world of personalized stationary, so I’m super-duper-totally-glad she likes her new theme as much as I do. Go tell her, “Hi!” and that she has rockin’ taste in blog designers.

While I’m not suffering from sleep deprivation, I’m trying to catch up on some design work I’ve been needing to do. Here are some I’ve finished the last week or two.

Guess what? I’ve done some more designs! The people who made requests back in JULY are very grateful. I am so behind most of these people have been waiting forever and have been super sweet about not cursing me and telling me how much they hate me! Go visit them and tell them “hello” and that they have GREAT taste in blog designers.
